We like big power here at Motoring Journo. The Jaguar XKR-S’s insistent, kick-in-the-back, relentless surge of acceleration is utterly addictive and wonderfully life-affirming. You feel it (and hear it; God, how you hear it…) and all is right with the world.
But it doesn’t necessarily make it a fast car.
Nope, there is far, far more to a fast car than big numbers. Much more important is the guy (or girl) behind the wheel. I’ll bet that Walter Rohrl is quicker in a Fiat 500 than I would be in the XKR-S; I’d kick his ass on the straights, for sure, but in the twisties he’d push me until I ran out of talent and fall off.
Unconvinced? Think that I’m being falsely modest? Watch this video of a Renault Megane toying with a Porsche 911 GT2 RS.
Definitely Blu-ray. via@Jalopnik

More importantly it’s not just quicker, but also just as much fun for the driver, despite the massive price difference!
